Job scheduling software for tradies

Most job scheduling software is built to drag jobs onto other people. On your own you're not handing out work, you're working out whether Thursday is already full, standing in someone's driveway. Yamate books jobs, for you or your crew, with the customer, the quote and the history already attached. Made in Australia, from $19/mo (founder price, until 30 Nov).

Jobs, not shifts

The word "scheduling" covers three different products, and only one of them is this.

What people meanWhat they need
Booking trade work in for yourself or your crewThis page
Building shift patterns and managing availabilityA rostering tool
Running batch tasks on a serverSomething else entirely

That third row isn't a joke. Job scheduling software is also what the IT world calls a batch scheduler, and if that's what you came for, this isn't it. Trade scheduling software books visits to people.

It matters because the first one has a customer and an address attached to every entry, and the other two don't. A tradie's calendar isn't a grid of time, it's a list of people expecting you.

What a booking carries

Open a job in Yamate and the things you'd otherwise be hunting for are already on it.

  • The customer and the site address
  • The quote, if there is one, with the prices you agreed
  • Photos from the last visit, before, after, and the meter you had to find
  • The history, what you did at that address and when
  • Access notes, the gate code, the dog, which neighbour has the key

That's the difference between arriving informed and arriving hopeful. The repeat call out doesn't start from scratch, and neither does whoever covers it for you.

Recurring work, set once

The quarterly service. The tenant who calls every winter. The monthly clean. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly, booked once against the customer and the site instead of rebooked from memory. Mark a visit done and the next one books itself.

The day opens without reception

Basements, roof cavities, subfloors, regional runs. The schedule opens, shows the day, takes a change, and syncs when the signal comes back. That matters most at exactly the moment you check it, standing somewhere with no bars. What happens when the signal drops has more on how it works.

Automatic job booking, what books itself and what waits for you

Automatic job booking software for trades should save you the phone tag, not take the calls off you. This is the split in Yamate.

Happens by itselfWaits for your tap
A missed call gets a text with your booking link, once you switch text back onRinging them back, if you'd rather talk
The customer describes the job, the AI asks the questions that suit your trade, and the request lands with a quote draftedChecking that quote and sending it
A quote the customer accepts on their phone lands back in the appPicking the day, a tap on the calendar
The next visit of a repeating job books itself when you mark the last one doneA new one off job
An appointment reminder goes 18 hours before, once you switch it onThe booking confirmation, one tap

The divert is set up on your own phone and costs nothing, and a dedicated number is a paid extra. Yamate doesn't answer your phone. It makes sure the person who rang doesn't just move on to the next name on their list. When the customer starts the booking, that's the job booking system.

Quotes and invoices never send themselves. Reminders, follow ups and review requests send on their own only once you switch them on. Anything with a price on it waits for you to look and approve, every time.

When the job is done

Finished work becomes an invoice with the quoted numbers already in it, and a deposit already paid comes off automatically. The schedule isn't a separate app from the money, it's the same job, further along.

If you have a crew, each person gets their own login, field or office. $59/mo covers eight people, and bigger crews move up a size, from $99/mo for 12 people to $399/mo for 200 people.

Honest fit

Not for you if you are rostering shifts, allocating rooms or equipment, or scheduling anything that is not a visit to a customer. Those are real products and this is not one of them.

For you if you're a tradie booking work in for yourself or your crew, and the thing you actually need is to know what Thursday looks like without opening three apps.

Questions tradies ask

Is this rostering software?

No. Yamate schedules jobs, not shifts. A job has a customer, an address, a quote and a history on it. If you need shift patterns and availability management, a rostering tool is the right product and this is not it.

Can I set up recurring jobs?

Yes, weekly through to yearly, tied to the customer and the site. Mark a visit done and the next one books itself.

Does a customer's booking go straight into my calendar?

No. It lands as a request with a quote drafted, and you pick the day. Only the next visit of a repeating job books itself.

Does it work without reception?

Yes. It opens, shows the day, takes a change, and syncs when signal returns.

Can I see the customer's history from the booking?

Yes. The quote, the photos and the past visits to that address are attached to it.

Does it schedule my crew as well as me?

Yes, on the 8-person plan, a login each, field or office. What it doesn't do is build rosters or manage availability.

Is it job scheduling software made for Australia?

Yes. Yamate is built in the Tweed for Australian tradies, with GST, your ABN, PayID and bank details on the invoice, and it opens on site with no signal.

Next steps

General information for Australian tradies, not tax, legal or financial advice. Yamate schedules jobs and prepares invoices, and it does not lodge your BAS or report anything to the ATO on your behalf. Automated reminders send only for tradies who switch them on, and quotes and invoices are never sent without your approval.
